Ok, we are over HALFWAY through 2020 and it's time to REFOCUS on your GOALS

2020 has been a year for the books for all of us.  There have been major changes in the dynamics of work, school, relationships and society. If you're like most Americans, your health and other major goals have been pushed aside as we try to navigate this "new normal".  Summer is upon us this week and the new season is a great reason to pause and reflect on your goals for the year. Whether it’s eating right, managing finances better, exercising more or cleaning out the garage, here are some tips for making and keeping goals.

Make a list

Lists are great ways to stay on track. Write down some big things you want to accomplish and some smaller things, too. Make it visible.

Check the list regularly

Don’t forget to check in and see how you’re doing. Just because you don’t achieve the big goals right away doesn’t mean you’re not making progress. Small steps will lead you down the right path.

Reward yourself

When you succeed in achieving a goal, be it a big one or a small one, make sure to stop and celebrate. This will help your motivation to continue on.

Think positively

Positive thinking is a major factor in success. So instead of mulling over things that didn’t go quite right, remind yourself of things that did. Learn from mistakes and move on.

Establish Accountability

Tell your spouse, friend, physical therapist or co-worker your goals and you will be more likely to stick to them. Even better, get them on your same page and go after a goal together.
